Our music marketing project consisted of very thorough and detailed research and planning to help us execute our project with high quality. Our project is heavily based on research about the country genre and how to sell a specific product to a specific group of people. In regards to marketing, it was incredibly important to research the target market of country music so we can know what advertisements to create so that we can reach our target. For example, we discovered that the target market for country music is adults from the age of 18-52. We wanted to utilize social media as much as possible because it is the easiest way to spread information about or artist and her music to millions of people. The average age of Facebook users is 40, so we created a Facebook account for our artists so that we can reach the target demographic for the country genre. However, we will also be utilizing Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube to spread our artist's music to younger age groups to reach the full target market of the country genre.
We plan on creating a music video for our artist's new song "Need You Now". Because our artist is not very popular, we will prioritize shots that show our artist's face so that viewers will remember her and will be able to recognize her if they see her again in a future song. After we finish the music video, we plan to post it on YouTube and share it on Instagram and Facebook. We also plan to add her song on TikTok for everyone to use. I believe our most challenging factor is time management. Researching, brainstorming, planning, filming, and presenting everything with exceptional quality in about 3 weeks can be very challenging. To overcome this, we created a schedule to plan out what we are going to work on and how long it will take. We have also tried to divide and conquer separate goals. One team member edits, one perfects our presentation and the other works on getting the shots we need.
